HELLO EVERYONE! I’ve noticed a lot of new traffic on my website recently. So I thought I’d make a post to reintroduce my self and share a brief life update and some goals. Starting fresh is always a good feeling.
For those of you that are new, HELLO! I’m Erica. I’m from a small city in Connecticut. I love to constantly be active and on the go. You can find me at the beach, on the slopes skiing, or at the gym trying out new classes. I also love to travel and discover new places and things to do! I created this website to share my favorite memories, tips and tricks, places to travel, and recipes to bake. I’m not a story teller so my posts tend to be right down to the point ( I think it’s a New England thing). You can read more about me HERE.
2016 was a very hard year for me. I struggled with my stomach intolerances, a new job, a new home, and I dealt with the death of a loved one (actually SEVERAL loved ones) for the first time ever in my life. All these new anxieties caused me to close in to a shell and feel a feeling I’ve never felt before. I felt discouraged, depressed, and alone, like a completely different person. I don’t share these things about my personal life mainly because I just don’t like to talk about feelings. My preference is to be happy keep people feeling happy too so I tend to keep things bottled up.
BUT, I’m sharing this today because something about me these past couple of months changed. Phil (my husband) and I took a trip to Iceland with our two friends back in October. I had two weeks away from home, away from life, away from my anxieties to self reflect and really think about my life. While I was gone I saw beautiful sights, set goals for myself, dropped toxic friends, and ate better. I came back happy, healthy, and ready to simplify and start fresh (I also happened to catch the travel bug).
I personally don’t set “New Year resolutions” I just don’t like them or believe in them. To me I think it’s important to always eat healthy, to exercise, to always be kind to others, and to always try your best to save money. However I do love to set real life goals. Some goals are short term and can take anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks to accomplish, other goals I set for my self are long term and they require more planning and time to accomplish.
MY NEW GOALS
This past year I’ve had some amazing opportunities to work with great people and brands. And I am so grateful for the experience I got from it. Blogging is something that really makes me happy and I’m going to continue to do it for a LONG time. It doesn’t matter to me if a ton of people see it or if just my mom reads it. It makes me happy. One of my long term goals is to blog more often and share more memories.
The reason I’ve been MIA lately is because I’ve been working really hard on fun projects that I am so excited to announce very soon! Also, Phil and I have been planning a few fun trips for 2017 and I can’t wait to share my adventures with you! I’ve been dipping my toes in to the world of youtube and I’ve had a lot of fun creating travel videos. You can expect to see more of them this year as well.
Lastly I’d like to thank you all for the emails you send me. I appreciate all the kind words and I love to hear from you! Starting fresh is always fun. There will be a lot of new exciting posts, announcements, and videos to come.
